Survival game V Rising is now in early access but it isn’t without its bugs, as players have been struggling with the clan system.

It seems a little less frequent now, but for the last few years survival games have been coming out hot and fast. From back in 2009, with Minecraft’s first alpha, to Day Z, Escape From Tarkov, and Valheim – surviving and crafting have been the modus operandi for a lot of big name online games.

V Rising, however, aims to do something at least a little different with the genre. It uses a familiar action role-playing game top-down perspective, like Diablo or Path of Exile, and often plays in that same fast-paced manner.

The game has proven popular, hitting over a million copies since going into early access and, currently, there are over 100,000 players playing on Steam. However, as it is in early access, there are some bugs and one is preventing people from joining clans in multiplayer.

V Rising clan is full fix guide

The clan is full error might appear if you’re playing on an official server, as Stunlock Studios, the developers, have made the game limited to four players in a clan for the time being. On player hosted servers through different services, the clans can be altered to be up to 10 – which is where the issue is stemming from.

If you’re renting a server from a service, you will need to go through their settings menu to alter the size. Your mileage may vary, but most will allow easy access for you to fiddle with the settings.

For those hosting their own server, this will require you to go into your files on the PC, as it can’t be done in-game. So before you start, close the game down and head into Windows Explorer.

In the address bar on the top, type in the following, replacing the example with your PC’s user profile:

‘[user profile]\appdata\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRising\Saves\’

Here, you should be met with some folders containing your saves, which might be in different folders depending on how many times you’ve started a new game or played online. Head into one of the folders and you’ll be met with more folders that are just strings of letters and numbers.

One of these will be your game, presumably the one with the most recent save date. Hover over each folder to find its last modified time or click through and do the same on the contents.

Once you’ve located your save, it’ll be in a .JSON file, which you can open with Notepad. Open ServerGameSettings.json and edit the clan size to between 4 and 10. Going above or below might potentially break the game.

Reload your game and you should now be able to add more people to the clan!
